Tiergarten is a setting of three poems by Rainer Marie Rilke that are about animals, the Swan, the Panther and the Unicorn. The work is for soprano and contrabass and was written for Nina Guo and Eddie Kass. They have been performing the work this season and this particular recording is from a concert in New York this past October.

I’m so happy to working on a new commission from the City of Tomorrow. What a fascinating group. I’ll be writing a piece based on their 2014-15 season theme of “Machines”. Soon I’ll be posting more about the piece, but a few other commissions under way before I can tackle a work for these fabulous players!
Emi Fergusonwill be performing a new work of mine, The Imperceptible Word, for Baroque flute this Wednesday at Clark University. Her performance will be part of a talk I’m giving, entitled, Re-Search at Clark about the work I did at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study last year.
On April 27th, 2012, I’m honored to be performing at the Brandeis Electro-Acoustic Music Studio (BEAMS) in honor of their 50th anniversary. I will be performing a live improvisation for rhodes keyboard, vibraphone and live electronics. Roth Michaels will be performing vibraphone and working the live electronics. I hope you can join us!
